Motivational Interviewing Training

A professional skilled in Motivational Interviewing (MI) can create an environment that provides youth the opportunity to disclose information about their risk, improve their motivation to change and to seek information on how to do so.

Our MITEY Change: Motivational Interviewing Training for Empowering Youth towards Change training options marry adolescent development and risk with MI strategies to equip all levels of professionals to positively impact change.

Why MITEY Change?

  • A professional’s lack of skills and confidence are the biggest barriers to providing effective risk reduction coaching to youth.
  • Giving information alone is not enough to promote behavior change and often causes more resistance in youth.
  • Learning how to apply MI in real-world practice requires a hands-on and interactive approach.

What’s included:

  1. Accessible 24/7, participants complete the MITEY Change Online Course at their own pace – providing a more robust and effective live workshop experience.
  2. Live onsite or virtual workshop to translate MI knowledge into effective practice. The MI workshops support effective adult learning by providing a dynamic and engaging experience for participants including real life examples, video demonstrations, observations, role plays and group activities that build from the online learning course.
